Jenna & Ryan: Wedding

Last weekend Jaime and I headed out to Camp Hill for Jenna & Ryan’s wedding – I think every single photographer who had a wedding this past weekend was tweeting about one thing…..the EXTREME heat.  I think the high was 97 degrees, with a heat index of 110.  To say it was HOT would be an understatement.  I just felt so bad for all the guys in black tuxes!  The whole bridal party were such troopers though, so we had a blast:)

Jenna & Ryan had so many special little touches to their day – my favorite by far was that she had her grandpa and great uncle perform a song during the ceremony and one during the reception – her grandpa has an awesome voice.  I LOVE when weddings are personalized with little touches like that:)  You’ll have to check out their SLIDESHOW to see grandpa in action:

SUCH a pretty location, their ceremony and reception was held at the West Shore Country Club in Camp Hill, PA:

I love Jenna’s rings – the diamond was her mom’s:

Jenna, you have a gorgeous smile:)

HELLOOO hot bridal party!

Even though it was SUPER hot, I was in heaven because the light was amazing:

We lucked out and found these awesome weeping willow trees:

Hope the golfers didn’t mind us taking over one of the holes for a few minutes:)

We got to ride around in golf carts for our pictures – Jaime was my driver, and I was a BIT afraid for my life.  I got pictures of us in action, but I’m going to spare you all and not post them.  We’re red, sweaty, and our hair is a hot mess.  You’re welcome Jaime:)

I usually don’t post the bouquet/garter pictures, but I couldn’t stop laughing at this one – check out Jenna’s grandma in the background!

Congrats guys!  Hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon in St. Lucia!

Check out more of Jenna & Ryan’s pictures in their SLIDESHOW – happy Tuesday!

iPhone Prints

Last week I talked about how I was going to try and get some of my iPhone pictures from my weekend at the Jersey Shore printed out….and WOW, I’m amazed at how they turned out!  I love them!

I got the idea from another photographer, and I’m so glad she blogged about it – I had 5×5 prints made and the look SO cool.  Still not sure where I’m going to put them, but it’s good to know these pictures look awesome in print form!  For all of you who are wondering, the app is ShakeIt Photo:)

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and stays cool – I’m shooting Jenna & Ryan’s wedding tomorrow, and MAN it is going to be a hot one!

July 24, 2010 - 8:44 am

Roanna & Reed: Wedding

Roanna and Reed – one of my all time favorite couples:)  I shot their engagement session over a year ago, and ever since then I couldn’t wait to shoot their wedding.  There were so many things I loved about this wedding – Roanna’s red traditional Chinese dress, the location, their First Look session….everything!  It was also a smaller wedding, which I LOVED.  They had family fly in from all over the world….Canada, Illinois, Australia (I LOVE Australian accents!), so it was great being able to capture the day with family that hasn’t seen each other in over 10 years.  We started out at Roanna’s parent’s house:

I was in love with BOTH of her dresses:)  Now I kinda wish I had two dresses…

Hey Ro, can I have your skin please?  K thanks:)

I loved Ro’s grandma:)

These girls were awesome!  I loved that they call her Ro boat:)

Flowers by the ever fabulous Garden Party sisters:

Oh right, yet another thing I loved – her hair!  If anyone needs a stylist, I highly recommend Natalie – she did everyone’s hair, and each and every one of them looked amazing!

LOVE this one:

This was the 2nd wedding in a row where the couple opted for a First Look session – always an awesome choice.  We had a ton of time for pictures, then they didn’t have to worry about a thing after their ceremony – they could head straight to their cocktail hour and hang out with all of their guests:)

The grounds of the Aldie Mansion were phenomenal – I could have shot there all day long.  Hoping I get more weddings there!

I was loving the parasols!

Mary and Dawn did an AMAZING job with the centerpieces – so unique!

Grandma was having a blast:)

Isn’t the mansion stunning?  Love it!

Thanks for having me Reed & Ro – I loved everything about your wedding!  Enjoy your honeymoon in Brazil:)

Also, check out their SLIDESHOW for more pictures from their day!

@ Libby: Yes, it’s a PSU cornhole board! I had a set made that was Illinois (Reed’s alma mater) vs. Penn State :)

Libby - Um, is that PSU cornhole?!

July 25, 2010 - 9:19 am

Big News!

I’M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!!  Yep, my sister is pregnant, and I am so super excited I can’t even express it:)  It’s so crazy to me that she is pregnant, I think it won’t really hit me until she starts to show:)  I can’t wait to see her as a mom, and Mike as a dad….I know they’re going to be amazing parents, it’s going to be so fun to see.  Now I just have to get them to move back to PA so I can see my little niece or nephew every single day:)  The day she told me she was pregnant (which was about 1 hour after she found out), I immediately ran to Target to buy some fun baby presents.  I bought little mini hats, mittens, bibs (one says “sloppy kisser”….love it!), a little jar of baby food (blows my mind something so tiny is a full meal to a person hah), and a little girl outfit and a little boy outfit.  And at that point, when I was buying both girl and boy clothes (hey, you never know!), I had to make myself exit the baby section of Target:)

It was so fun being “in” on the secret, so I was able to experience everyone’s reaction when she told them for the first time.  She told my dad, grandparents, and Mike’s parents when we were visiting my grandparents one weekend.  It was Father’s Day weekend, so she decided to get my dad and Mike’s dad “grandpa” cards, and she got my grandpa a “great grandpa” card…..it was too funny, here are my dad (left) and Mike’s dad (right) initially reading the cards:

My dad SO did not get it, it was hilarious – here is how it went:

Dad: Jess, you gave me the wrong card.

Jess: No I didn’t.

Dad: Yes, it says Grandpa.

Jess: Right, that’s for you.  Read it.

Dad: Smiles:)

Mike’s dad’s expression was hilarious – he just sat there for a minute with a shocked look on his face:)

Then hugs all around!

So fun!  I can’t WAIT to meet the baby!

July 28, 2010 - 9:00 pm

kathryn - I love this!! My best friend is due to give birth any day and I’ve been soo excited about it, since we’ve been friends forever. I had to pull myself away from target. Great post. Great pictures!! You’ll have so much fun! Enjoy!

Jersey Shore Weekend

My junior year of college I lived with seven girls in an apartment.  Yes, an apartment, not a house.  Going into junior year everyone told us we were nuts and we’d want to kill each other by the end of the year, but just the opposite happened…..we had so many awesome times together that year, and we all became such great friends.  I love that we’re all still close friends, and we always make it a point to get together a couple times a year – so this past weekend we decided to hit up the Jersey shore for a girls weekend:)  I ended up not using my camera at all, and just took a bunch of iPhone pictures, so all of the pictures in this post are from my phone – I love how they turned out though!

I SO needed this weekend away, that I didn’t even care that this is what it looked like outside on my drive down:

It rained ALL DAY on Saturday, but it finally let up a little bit at the end of the day, so we were able to take a walk on the beach:

The girls, minus me:)

I have an app on my iPhone where you can take self-timed pictures, so we could get a shot of all 6 of us (we were missing one this weekend!):

I was also SUPER excited to get my first bridal shower gift this weekend!  I was obsessed with the wrapping paper, how cute is it??  Thanks Candice!

I ordered a bunch of these pictures as prints, so I’ll let you all know how the quality works out:)

I had such a fun weekend girls!  Can’t wait for our big trip the year of our 30th birthdays:)

July 22, 2010 - 1:53 pm
