Random Monday: Tiki’s and Roses

This past weekend was a first for me in a long time - I didn't have a wedding to shoot on Saturday.  While I love me a little Saturday wedding fun, it is nice to have a little break once in a while.  Since I had Saturday off, J and I decided to have a little Tiki Bar/Musikfest fun instead:)  I loved this Tiki Bar so much that I just had to blog about it - all the seating is right along a creek, and they have huge grills everywhere - so you buy whatever meat/seafood you want, then grill it yourself!  I didn't know this place even existed - it's in the middle of no where.  No really, we passed a llama farm to get there.  Who has a llama farm in PA?  Apparently people that live near this Tiki Bar.  Huh.  I just realized as I'm writing this that the name of this tiki bar is The Tiki Bar.  Then we went to a music festival called Musikfest.  Quite a literal weekend:)  Anyway, I digress - here are some shots of The Tiki Bar:

Seating along the creek:

I feel like these pictures don't do it justice - the huge grills were up on this level - I wish I would have had my wide lense so you could get the full effect!

Order your meat from here - I just noticed that "gator" is one of the options.  Hmm.

J, doing his thing.  Grilling while drinking a beer.  I think he was in heaven:)

Mom and Jim:)

In case you couldn't tell in the picture above, you can now tell below - they were wearing matching outfits.  Accidental, but hilarious to me none the less:)  I think I was making fun of their outfits while I was taking this picture....either that or asking why they opted for the prom pose:)  Didn't I inherit some amazing genes though?  Man, I hope I'm as gorgeous as my mom when I'm 50!

Finishing up our meals:)

After this delicious meal we headed to Musikfest where I devoured a funnel cake.  I forgot how much I love those things.  I'll have to work that one off this week:)

On another random note, I'm almost done with my office!  I just got these 16x20 prints back, and I LOVE how they look on my office wall.  I can't wait to share pictures when it's all put together!

And check J out - ending our weekend by surprising me with 2 dozen red roses:)  I always love asking why he bought me flowers - because he knows one thing I can't STAND is when guys buy you flowers when you're in a fight, to smooth things over.  I never understood why flowers were supposed to make that better.  So I made sure to tell him when we first started dating that I only like to get flowers for random reasons, so he usually comes up with good random reasons.  This time when I asked him why he bought me flowers, his reply was "because you're nice." - haha pretty simple reply, but I'll take it!  I love staring at them while I'm editing:)

Welp, that's it for random Monday - I highly recommend The Tiki Bar to anyone in the Allentown area:)  Happy Monday!

Hey Tina! I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve commented on your great blog! =) I’m in the process of creating my studio…where did you get your white frames? They’re beautiful and exactly what I’ve been looking for!

I think you might have to give me directions to the Tiki Bar! Looks like a cool place. Love the roses as well…..you are nice, I will have to agree with J!!

What great pictures of our Tiki Bar experience! The only thing that would make it better, in my opinion, is if it was beside the ocean or bay. I loved all the pictures, especially the one of me and Jim in our prom pose! Awww, Tina, you hope you inherited my genes? That was a very sweet thing to say! You’ve got a great man too; 2 dozen roses just because you’re nice? You’d better hang on to him!

Ooh, that Tiki Bar looks awesome! I’ll have to try it out next time I’m home. Gotta love Mom and Jim in the prom pose!

You better hang a picture of me on your wall – I’m thinking 4′ x 6′ would be the perfect size.
