Sarah and Joe: Wedding

Sarah and Joe - where to begin?  Sarah is one of my favorite people in the whole world - you'll never meet a more genuine and sweet girl in your entire life.  I'm so happy I met her during my freshman year at PSU, and that we've stayed close friends ever since.  And I think we all knew when we met Joe, that he was the one for her.  They compliment each other so well, and I'm so happy they found each other:)

Their wedding at the Waterfall Banquet Center in Wilmington, Delaware was just stunning - all of the details were absolutely perfect - so let's get to their images:)

Gorgeous bride:

Yay!

The flowers were amazing - but what else do you expect from Mary and Dawn?  I'm so excited to say they're doing the flowers for my own wedding!

Looooved these bridesmaid bouquets - I'll be using these flowers for my own wedding too:)

Does Sarah look like a model or what??  I can't even explain how amazing she looked in this dress....well wait....I'll let the pictures do the explaining:)

Loved this hair piece!

Have you ever seen a back of a dress like this?  Phenomenal!

Let me say a little something about Mary and Dawn - to say they went above and beyond with the details for Sarah's wedding would be an understatement.  They totally transformed this empty room to have a formal aisle - and the details at the front of the room?  Stunning!  I fell in love with their decorations - they totally made it into a beautiful winter wedding theme:

This just might be my favorite picture of the whole day:)

I'm thinking I might have to use this idea for my cake too (do you like how I'm stealing all of these ideas for my own wedding? - but I looooved how there were snowflakes imprinted in the icing!

Mary and Sarah - I love these girls!

These guys were quite the entertainers - the one on the right is Mary's husband:)

Ahhhhh all of my PSU girls - this picture just makes me smile every single time I look at it.  I'm so lucky to have so many amazing friends in my life - love you girls!

To Sarah and Joe - thank you so much for having me be a part of your special day - I had SO much fun hanging out with you all day long Sarah!  Hope you're enjoying the honeymoon!

Tina-I’m speechless after that slideshow! What a wonderful remembrance of Sarah and Joe’s special day! That song was perfect; where did you find it? I have to agree with Jess, country was not something I’d imagine you’d pick but it was just right. I love the pictures of the rings on the Hershey’s kisses! Sarah looks like a model, just lovely. I’m glad the pictures are finally up; I’ve been checking daily! Great job again Tina! Mary and Dawn did a fantastic job; I can’t wait to see how they’ll transform your wedding!

Philly Fun

It's no secret that I love Philly.  So I really love when people come to visit me in Philly, because that means I have an excuse to do all the tourist-y things that Philly has to offer.  Over the Christmas break my step-sister Erin and her boyfriend were visiting from Las Vegas, and we spent an afternoon in Philly hitting all of the spots this city is known for.....I hadn't done something like this in SO long, so it was a ton of fun to do it with someone who has never been to Philly before:

Erin's boyfriend REALLY wanted to run up the Rocky steps (and I'm ashamed to say I've never climbed them before!) - so I ran to the top and took pictures of him sprinting up.  And yes, he is listening to "Eye of the Tiger" on his iPod:)

Next stop was Independence Hall, where the Constitution was signed (Jay and I used to live about 2 blocks from here.....man I miss the city!):

And of course, the Liberty Bell:

Next stop was the Constitution Center - I liked how the American flag is positioned right over Independence Hall:

My dad is fascinated by Ben Franklin, so he wanted to see where he was buried.  The whole time we were walking around this area (oh, a good hour or two), I thought my Dad was saying Ben Franklin was buried in that little house right in the center of the picture below.  I kept thinking "geez, he has a whole house as a burial sight"!  So I start walking towards the little house, and my dad had to stop me and ask where I was going....welp, ends up I was dead wrong and he is actually buried where I drew the arrow.  Riiiiiight...woops:)

No trip to Philly is ever complete without a REAL Philly cheesesteak, so we stopped by the famous Pat's:

And Geno's:

Erin got a cheesesteak from Geno's, her boyfriend got one from Pat's, and they split them....I won't reveal who the winner was:)

I've actually never eaten at either, because Jim's is my favorite (on 4th and South).....so when it came time to deciding which one to get (they're right across the street from each other, for all of you non-Philadelphians out there:), I went with Geno's solely because it is much prettier hah:

Now I never mind a good cheesesteak, but let me tell you, these little guys kiiiind of ruined my experience.  You have to sit outside to eat (yes there are tables outside, and yes they are PACKED even though it was only 30 degrees out), and I just wanted to eat and get out of there as fast as possible to get away from the pigeons.  What is UP with all of the pigeons???  Yeah, this one below looks innocent enough, until a whole flock of them will come flapping toward you and your cheesy goodness!  Not a fan!

Happy Thursday!

I told my roomate from philly all about this post and she loved it. Apparently Jim’s is her favorite as well!

Jess - January 9, 2010 - 4:08 pm

Looks like a great time! I’ll have to try something other than Jim’s next time I come up!

Ben - January 8, 2010 - 12:20 pm

Great pics Tean! I say we try Pat’s next time…when the temperature hits 60°F!

Lauren - January 8, 2010 - 10:15 am

I thought weeeeee were supposed to start doing tourist-y stuff?! I guess in the spring! Love the rocky pics :)

Gail - January 8, 2010 - 9:51 am

You’ll have to do a little more Philly sight-seeing again when I come visit :)
