Philly and Gail Galore

It felt SO good to have a few days off when my good friend Gail came to visit last week:)  And I've said it before, any time I have an excuse to hit the typical sight-seeing spots in Philly, I'm all about it.  Here are a few more shots from our day:

Of course we had to drive down to South Philly so Gail could experience her first REAL Philly cheesesteak at Geno's - Gail, don't hate me for posting a picture of you shoving a cheesesteak in your mouth:)

Liberty Bell, with Independence Hall in the background:

Then we were aimlessly walking around the city, and found this little area FULL of  these white flowers:

So of course with both of us being photographers, we had a little photoshoot with each other around the city, so get ready for a TON of Gail shots!

Only another photographer would be TOTALLY cool with jumping in the middle of some bushes to get a cool shot:

So pretty!

Love her smile:)

I told Gail that from now on, I want to only go on trips with fellow photographers - it was SO fun to travel around with someone else who is just as obsessed with taking pictures as I am, and will drop what we're doing to get some shots in awesome light.  That's what we did for the next two shots - we spotted this AMAZING light that, trust me, is VERY rare in Philly:)

Here is my absolute fave shot of Gail - love it!

I'll post pictures from our days in NYC soon:)  Miss you Gail!

these are great pics! I love your style! I haven’t done photography as a sort of “career” in a long time but I still adore taking pictures and I have to agree that trips with other people who take millions of pictures make it that much more fun!

LOVE all of the pics Tin! I can’t believe Gail probably saw more of Philly than I’ve seen and I have lived here for 25 years! Ps. That last pic of her is great… she looks like such a happy person :)

I love all of these. her shirt and red toms look lovely in the white flowers. it’s the perfect combination. so since you only want to travel around with fellow photographers, maybe we should meet up sometime. i’ve been dying to do a shoot in the magic garden.

[...] Gail came out to visit me in Philly a few weeks back, like you might remember from our awesome Philly and New York adventures:)  I was THRILLED when she suggested doing an engagement session for Jay [...]

Philly/NYC Preview

Here is a little preview of Gail and my three days packed full of sight-seeing goodness in Philly and NYC - we REALLY lucked out with the weather - we had 3 perfect, warm, blue sky days.....and now this morning it is rainy, dark and 48 degrees outside.  It was perfect!  MUCH more to come on the blog this week!

Art museum in Philly:

30 Rock!  I really think this might be my FAVORITE picture from the whole trip - Gail bought a fisheye lens that I was LOVING playing around with.  I might just have to buy myself one:)  I couldn't get over the sky - there was NO color correction on this picture - this is just how perfect the sky looked straight out of the camera.  Talk about hitting this location at the right time!

Much more to come this week!

Awesome fisheye picture!

Philly/NYC Adventures

I love, love, love when friends come to town for a visit.....so I was SUPER excited when Gail said she wanted to take a trip out to the east cost to see Philly for the first time.  Gail and I met about a year ago at the MJ 2 Day workshop out in Arizona, where we became fast friends and stayed in touch ever since.  So TODAY (woohoo!) she is flying out to Philly from Muncie, Indiana - I thought it was only fitting to use our headshots from the MJ 2 Day last year:)

You like my photoshop skills?  Well there’s a little more goodness where that came from - tomorrow we’re going to take a tour of Philly and make all the usual stops:

Then Friday/Saturday we’re going to head up to NYC and take in everything we possibly can cram into 24 hours:)

Both of us are pretty much clueless when it comes to navigating the subway system in NYC, so this should be QUITE the adventure - I can't wait!  Since I'll be out for the next few days, I'll be sure to respond to all email by early next week!

I’m hating you girls just a tad today ;) Your stick girls are cute, but I can’t wait to see the real photos from Times Square. Have so much fun in one of my favorite cities!
