Big News!

I'M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!!!  Yep, my sister is pregnant, and I am so super excited I can't even express it:)  It's so crazy to me that she is pregnant, I think it won't really hit me until she starts to show:)  I can't wait to see her as a mom, and Mike as a dad....I know they're going to be amazing parents, it's going to be so fun to see.  Now I just have to get them to move back to PA so I can see my little niece or nephew every single day:)  The day she told me she was pregnant (which was about 1 hour after she found out), I immediately ran to Target to buy some fun baby presents.  I bought little mini hats, mittens, bibs (one says "sloppy kisser"....love it!), a little jar of baby food (blows my mind something so tiny is a full meal to a person hah), and a little girl outfit and a little boy outfit.  And at that point, when I was buying both girl and boy clothes (hey, you never know!), I had to make myself exit the baby section of Target:)

It was so fun being "in" on the secret, so I was able to experience everyone's reaction when she told them for the first time.  She told my dad, grandparents, and Mike's parents when we were visiting my grandparents one weekend.  It was Father's Day weekend, so she decided to get my dad and Mike's dad "grandpa" cards, and she got my grandpa a "great grandpa" card.....it was too funny, here are my dad (left) and Mike's dad (right) initially reading the cards:

My dad SO did not get it, it was hilarious - here is how it went:

Dad: Jess, you gave me the wrong card.

Jess: No I didn't.

Dad: Yes, it says Grandpa.

Jess: Right, that's for you.  Read it.

Dad: Smiles:)

Mike's dad's expression was hilarious - he just sat there for a minute with a shocked look on his face:)

Then hugs all around!

So fun!  I can't WAIT to meet the baby!

Jersey Shore Weekend

My junior year of college I lived with seven girls in an apartment.  Yes, an apartment, not a house.  Going into junior year everyone told us we were nuts and we'd want to kill each other by the end of the year, but just the opposite happened.....we had so many awesome times together that year, and we all became such great friends.  I love that we're all still close friends, and we always make it a point to get together a couple times a year - so this past weekend we decided to hit up the Jersey shore for a girls weekend:)  I ended up not using my camera at all, and just took a bunch of iPhone pictures, so all of the pictures in this post are from my phone - I love how they turned out though!

I SO needed this weekend away, that I didn't even care that this is what it looked like outside on my drive down:

It rained ALL DAY on Saturday, but it finally let up a little bit at the end of the day, so we were able to take a walk on the beach:

The girls, minus me:)

I have an app on my iPhone where you can take self-timed pictures, so we could get a shot of all 6 of us (we were missing one this weekend!):

I was also SUPER excited to get my first bridal shower gift this weekend!  I was obsessed with the wrapping paper, how cute is it??  Thanks Candice!

I ordered a bunch of these pictures as prints, so I'll let you all know how the quality works out:)

I had such a fun weekend girls!  Can't wait for our big trip the year of our 30th birthdays:)

Not surprising but of course I <3 this post! You are even a great phone photographer! And I'm also very happy to have my new photo apps… I bet the pics in 4 years will look even better :)

A Little Wrap Love

I know it's pretty nerdy, but I look forward to when the mail comes....I rarely get anything good, but I still look forward to it every day, not sure why.  But when I'm expecting a package to be delivered??  I probably check my porch every hour on the hour.  So you can imagine how excited I was when I had a couple of gallery wraps delivered to my front door yesterday afternoon.....heard the package hit the front door, waited until I heard the truck drive away (tried to not pounce on the driver), and tore into it....I am LOVING how they turned out!

For anyone who hasn't heard of gallery wraps, they're pictures that are printed on canvas, and the canvas is then stretched around an inch thick wooden frame....seriously in love with this big one  I ordered from Rebecca & Tommy's wedding:

Absolutely love how the picture extends around the frame:

I  also ordered two tinier ones - I love the idea of displaying baby photos this way also:

I can't wait to have my OWN wedding pictures so I can get a huge canvas for above our bed:)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  I'm off to the beach for the weekend with some of my college roommates - it's going to be a much needed relaxing weekend:)

Can I ask what company/website you ordered these from? I have some pictures from my wedding that I would love to have printed on canvas.

Thanks,
Lauren

I so badly want to order some canvases, but I freeze up over deciding which photos and what size and still have yet to actually do it! These look great though :)
