Centerton Country Club Wedding: Jena & Mike

Wow, we have REALLY lucked out in the weather department for the past few Saturdays!  I'm loving all this sunny, not crazy hot weather!  Jena and Mike's wedding was this past Saturday, and this weekend was no exception - beautiful, sunny, perfect weather for a wedding day.  I was LOVING all of the details that had special meaning to Jena - there were little touches that had significant meaning to her all throughout her wedding day.

When you walk into a bride's house to see shoes like this?  You know it's gonna be a good day:)

Mary used Jena's mom's wedding dress to wrap her bouquet:

Love this picture of both Jena and her mom's hands on the bouquet:

Believe it or not, this is the first bride I've had with a birdcage veil! Loved it:)

The ring was her great-grandma's, and their wedding date is also her great-grandma's birthday:)

Always love the excitement of the first moments the bride is in her dress....

Jena and Mike opted for a First Look session, which was a great decision for their day:)

HELLO gorgeous bride!

I think this is my most favorite picture of a bride E.V.E.R.  Gorgeous Jena, gorgeous:)

We shot all of the first look pictures at a friend's house on the water - so fun shooting there:)

Seriously stunning - can't get over it!

Jena  and Mike held their ceremony at LaRosa Greenhouses - such a unique location, loved it!

Jay came with me to shoot this wedding, and he had an AWESOME day - love so many of his images - the one below is his.  As soon as I saw it I feel in love with it:)

And my view below:

Some of their fun reception details at Centerton Country Club:

Jena and Mike, thanks for inviting us to be a part of your day!

Check out more pictures from their day, and watch their SLIDESHOW!

Amanda - September 1, 2010 - 2:33 pm

Tina! I feel like I say this with every single one of your weddings, but dang girl, these are AWESOME! You and Jay make a great team :) There is no way I could pick a favorite.

Beautiful! Great photos and what a beautiful bride. Looks like they had a blast!

Mary - August 31, 2010 - 7:46 pm

OOO la la, love them all! Jena is an easy girl to photograph I am sure! I adored all the vintage inspired personal touches, like the lace from her mom’s wedding dress, it really made it all come together! Beautiful, just beautiful. My favs are the one of them next to the water (so natural!), Jena and her mom’s hands on the bouquet and the one of Jena and Marie (both my beaming brides!!)

How to Get Out of a Ticket? Become a Photographer.

Here is what my night looked like this past Saturday, as I was driving home from Jena and Mike's wedding:

Pack up our car, put on the GPS, which tells us we won't be home until after midnight.

Follow GPS halfway home, then I decided that I knew a better way, and tried a new route.

Within 3 minutes on my "new route", I have no idea where I am (GPS is yelling "RECALCULATING" every 5 seconds at me).

Jay is rolling his eyes in the passenger seat, as he watches the GPS clock say we'll get home later and later.

Promptly get pulled over by a cop for speeding (bad habit).

More eye rolls from the passenger seat.

Cop circles the car, shines the flashlight in my backseat (with all of our gear), asks for my license and registration and what we were doing tonight.

I say we were shooting a wedding, we're photographers.

She glances quickly at my license and the whole tone changes - she's all "Oh really?!  One of my best friends just got engaged and is looking for a photographer.....can I have your card?"

So I say sure thing, and fumble around for my card holder (I'm kinda shaking, I get SO nervous when I get pulled over! Such a nerd.).

She says "Thanks, I'll let you go tonight - I'll pass this along to my friend!"

Jay and I stare at each other in disbelief.  Did that REALLY just happen?  I hope I book her friend, how crazy of a story would that be?

Lesson learned? Always have your biz card on you - just might get you out of a ticket!

This is TOOOOO funny! Love it Tina! And as someone who is AWFUL at carrying her biz cards around, I need to be better at it. Never know when it’ll come in handy!

That is absolutely hilarious!!!

Jena Leigh - August 31, 2010 - 6:58 pm

I’m so happy you did not get a ticket, I would have felt horrible if you got a ticket leaving my wedding!

Joan - August 31, 2010 - 6:09 pm

Hey lead foot, were you ever lucky that time! Didn’t your mom tell you to slow down? (Yes, she sure did!)

Sandy a la Mode - August 31, 2010 - 5:11 pm

Roanna - August 31, 2010 - 9:30 am

THIS IS AWESOME!! Reed was so jealous when he heard your story because he never gets that lucky :o ) I got pulled over in KC by a lady cop once and didn’t get a ticket… he thought it was unfair i wasn’t even given a ticket by a girl lol.

Natalie - August 30, 2010 - 2:15 pm

I absolutely LOVE this story! Haha! I’m a speeder myself & doubt I’ll ever be this lucky. Woohoo!

Kari & Dave: Wedding

Kari and Dave were married this past weekend outdoors on Kari's parent's property in South Jersey.  We lucked out that there was no rain on their wedding day, and it wasn't TOO crazy hot.  I loved the personal touch of having their ceremony + reception at her parent's house.....not to mention her parent's house is absolutely amazing, and made for some awesome pre-ceremony photos:)  So after 10 years of dating, Kari and Dave finally tied the knot in front of all of their friends and family - it was so great being a part of their day!

I was loving these hammock-esque chairs....the flowers are by the Garden Party Sisters....who else would design something this fabulous?

I was LOVING all of Kari's accessories - the hairpiece and earrings worked perfectly together:)

Let me tell you, this bridesmaid was HILARIOUS - I couldn't stop laughing when I was taking these pictures!  It was quite the event putting Kari's garter on:)

Kari, could you BE any more photogenic?  Gorgeous!!

First look in her parent's back yard:)

Kari, you're stunning:)

I usually don't post cake pictures, but I couldn't NOT post this one - you very rarely see the smashing of the cake anymore - it was hilarious!  I love that you can see bits of cake flying off to the left:)

All of Dave's Citadel friends sang "You've Lost that Loving Feeling" to Kari, straight up Top Gun style:)

Kari & Dave, thanks for inviting me to be a part of your day!

You can check out more pictures from their wedding by viewing their SLIDESHOW.  Happy Wednesday!
