How to Get Out of a Ticket? Become a Photographer.

Here is what my night looked like this past Saturday, as I was driving home from Jena and Mike's wedding:

Pack up our car, put on the GPS, which tells us we won't be home until after midnight.

Follow GPS halfway home, then I decided that I knew a better way, and tried a new route.

Within 3 minutes on my "new route", I have no idea where I am (GPS is yelling "RECALCULATING" every 5 seconds at me).

Jay is rolling his eyes in the passenger seat, as he watches the GPS clock say we'll get home later and later.

Promptly get pulled over by a cop for speeding (bad habit).

More eye rolls from the passenger seat.

Cop circles the car, shines the flashlight in my backseat (with all of our gear), asks for my license and registration and what we were doing tonight.

I say we were shooting a wedding, we're photographers.

She glances quickly at my license and the whole tone changes - she's all "Oh really?!  One of my best friends just got engaged and is looking for a photographer.....can I have your card?"

So I say sure thing, and fumble around for my card holder (I'm kinda shaking, I get SO nervous when I get pulled over! Such a nerd.).

She says "Thanks, I'll let you go tonight - I'll pass this along to my friend!"

Jay and I stare at each other in disbelief.  Did that REALLY just happen?  I hope I book her friend, how crazy of a story would that be?

Lesson learned? Always have your biz card on you - just might get you out of a ticket!

This is TOOOOO funny! Love it Tina! And as someone who is AWFUL at carrying her biz cards around, I need to be better at it. Never know when it’ll come in handy!

I’m so happy you did not get a ticket, I would have felt horrible if you got a ticket leaving my wedding!
