I'm back in civilization! It was great to get away - everyone needs a good re-charge once in a while. I feel like I've been going going going this whole year so far, and hardly have had any breaks to just sit back and relax (well besides my trip to Florida - but I already feel like that was over a year ago!). So this past weekend it was so nice that I was able to just relax and not work at all for 5 days straight. J and I headed to my grandparent's cabin for the past 5 days, which is literally in the middle of no where - it's nice to be able to take a break from city life once in a while. Like I mentioned in my last post, there is no tv, internet, or cell phone reception, so you're literally detached from every day life, which is kind of nice:) Well this year I discovered that I do get cell phone service since they put a new cell phone tower - an event that was pretty much the talk of the town. In order to get service on our phones we have to sit in a loft at the very top of the cabin and in a certain spot, but it's service none the less! And since my brother-in-law has an iphone (which I will be purchasing soon), I couldn't resist checking my e-mail every day....but besides that I was still cut off from the world:)
So anyway, it was SO nice to just get away, relax, and not even have the ability to do work if I wanted to:) It was also great to be able to spend Father's Day weekend with my Dad and Grandpa - Happy Father's Day again guys! (Happy Father's Day to Grandpa D too - I'll be seeing you this weekend!) If anyone who is reading this lives in PA, they know this weekend was NOT pretty - it was pretty much a rainy mess, so this is what all of our feet looked like the whole weekend - the houndstooth wellies are mine! (thanks to Beth:):

My Dad managed to get his HUGE truck stuck in the mud when we were trying to pull into the cabin - I really wish I could have documented that debacle, but my camera was in his truck as he was trying to get it un-stuck. I seriously thought about stopping the whole process to get my camera out, but I used my better judgment and decided he wouldn't enjoy me sticking a camera in his face during that moment:)
I also got to meet my sister's dog Daisy for the first time this weekend. They got her about 3 months ago, but I haven't seen her yet because her and Mike (my brother-in-law) live in North Carolina. I miss them both SO much and want them to move back to PA asap. I told them that I decided they'll be moving back within the next 5 years. I mean, them moving back to PA is part of my 10 year plan, and they can't mess with my plan, right? Come on Jess & Mike, I know you want to! I'm slowly working on wearing them down and having them move back here.....at least in my head they'll be moving back soon:) Anyway, here is Daisy - isn't she cute??

I loved this picture of Daisy and Mike - she just loves Mike:

She loves Jess too. But she also likes to attack Jess sometimes:)

One more wellie shot - we managed to get one with Daisy's paw in it:) Don't mind us, we were getting a little bored and going a little stir-crazy from sitting inside during all the rain:

For about one hour the sun managed to come out, so I definitely made sure to get some cool shots in the woods - please note all of the bugs flying around my sister in this shot (which is why she had her hood up) - I think I have approximately 247 bug bites after this weekend:

My Dad and Beth - loved their expressions in this one:

And one last shot, before the sun went away and the rain started all over again:

So overall it was great to get away for the weekend - I feel re-charged and ready to tackle my HUGE summer to-do list! Plus I have a bunch of photo sessions and weddings coming up, so make sure to stay tuned:) Hope everyone had a nice, relaxing weekend!
Great job Tina – the pictures look beautiful!! Thank you for continually giving me something to look at during work
Tina, that 3rd shot down is AUH-MAZING!!! I love the light on her there – making it my favorite. All of these are good, but there is just something about that image… it’s timeless.
