Happy Fall!

I love this season.  The colors, the crisp air, the football, and knowing that all of the best holidays are right around the corner.  Oh and the candy corn.  Lots of it.  I no longer buy candy corn for my house, because I've been known to down a bag in a day.  It's not a good sight.

I didn't have many fall decorations since I lived in an apartment for so long, but now that Jay and I have a house I couldn't resist a little fall shopping spree.  Even just a few decorations has made our living room feel so much more homey - I love it!  Just thought I'd share a few fun fall images to get everyone in the fall spirit:)

I loved how my mantel turned out!

AND THEN - I got home the other day to a package on my front step.  I couldn't remember ordering anything online, and when I saw it was from my sister I got REALLY excited.  You see, she used to send me packages full of holiday goodness when I was in college, and that was always SO exciting.  So when I saw I had a package from her I was so excited I only made it as far as my kitchen before I threw all of my stuff on the ground and tore into it:)

So fun!

Again, I was so excited that I didn't get past my kitchen floor before I set everything out to see what I got.  Don't mind my refrigerator in the background:)

She even included 2 presents for Jay - a Grill Meister apron:

And a grilling cookbook - I can't wait until he makes dinner with one of these recipes:)

Here is a few more fall images:)

Libby - October 1, 2009 - 3:26 pm

Jess - October 1, 2009 - 3:17 pm

Two Paper Dolls: AIGA “New to You” Event

Vanessa of Two Paperdolls asked me to shoot an event they hosted at their design center last night, so of course I didn't hesitate to join in:)  They hosted the AIGA "New to You" series, which is an annual lecture series where different creative small businesses in Philly speak to the guests about the history of the business, and how they grew their businesses to where it is today.  Then the Two Paperdolls employees gave us a tour of their letterpress area, and gave all the guests a cool letterpress gift:)  Here are some of the shots from last night:

Is it wrong that I covet her boots??  I LOVE them.  I need them.  Now.  :)

I loved all of the things hanging on their walls in the letterpress area (if you look at the picture on the top right, you can see a picture of Alison Conklin's awesome letterpress business cards - she is the one who took the awesome shots of me in my header!):

Then Scott from Two Paperdolls gave a demonstration on their letterpress.  It starts like this:

Hi Tina!

LOVE the site as always, your pics are gorgeous! I started my photography class and I absolutely love it! I’m learning a ton and I bought that book you recommended. :D I’m so excited to start learning how to take great photos.

As for the boots, I think they have those exact ones or at least VERY close to it at target! They were only 30 bucks I think which is an awesome price for some awesome boots.
Take Care!

These photos captured the event perfectly!
The work that Two Paper Dolls creates is simply beautiful.
Thanks to the group for having all of us in your “home”!

Thanks, Tina! The photos are great :) We had a lot of fun hosting the AIGA and our fellow creatives. And thanks for the props about our studio – it’s such a great space thanks to the super talented Winnie King of Environments HC: http://environmentshc.com

OMG – everything they do is INCREDIBLE! I’m a bit of a card/font/letterpress nut, so I seriously want to come see their shop!! I want letterpress biz cards SO bad! Love all these!

PS – “I Kern For You” – okay, typography dork that I am, I laughed out loud when I read that one – LOVE IT!

Night Time Shoot: Center City

Jaime and I first became friends in our 9th grade gym class.  I was intimidated by her because she was friends with all the cool girls in our grade - but then we ended up being assigned to the same gym class, and we bonded over our un-athleticism (is that even a word?).  We were really bad at gym class.  Like, REALLY bad.  Anyone who knows me knows I am just simply not athletically inclined.  I received the worst grade I ever got in my WHOLE LIFE in that 9th grade gym class.  I never got below a B in all my years in school, and even B's were rare.  Well I got a D in that gym class, and I believe Jaime got an F.  This gym teacher was just AWFUL, and really hated that we found it funny how bad we were at sports.  Well in the end that D was worth it, because now Jaime is one of my best friends in the whole world:)

Last night I headed into center city to celebrate Jaime's birthday with her and Karen, and we had an awesome time having dinner and dessert:)  Then of course I convinced them to have a little night-time photo shoot in the streets of Philly to push Jaime out of her "early twenties" to welcome her to her "late twenties":)

Happy Birthday Jaime!!!  Love ya!

[...] love me some Frey family:)  I’ve known this family ever since I became friends with Jaime back in 9th grade (I just did the math in my head and realized that was 11 years ago.  CRAZY!), [...]

Sarah - September 28, 2009 - 10:48 am

The night shoot turned out great!!! Loved the shots and workin it on Broad! :)

Kylene - September 25, 2009 - 10:39 am

Love the night time pictures Tina! You girls look awesome :)

Mary - September 24, 2009 - 11:26 pm

I think you should not have been in that alley. Karen and Jaime are hotties though!

Jaime - September 24, 2009 - 11:59 am

I’m going to need you to explain why we got the grades we did…it’s because we never made up classes!!! haha Not because we were terrible at sports :)

Lauren - September 24, 2009 - 10:31 am

I love the nightime shots Tin! You guys look awesome girls…esp in pics 2 & 3 :) and ps. I was the exact same way in gym class….always last to be picked for the kickball teams :( haha.

Joan - September 23, 2009 - 8:57 pm

I love the nighttime shots! Jaime looks fantastic and I loved the head shot of Karen with the blurred night lights behind her. They both look like professional models! Happy Birthday to Jaime!!!
