Recovering

Aaaand we're back! We just got in from Ireland yesterday, so today is going to be spent recovering. Time to put myself back on the diet (I'm afraid to see what the scale says after that trip), hydrate myself (I may have indulged in a pint or two), and get back on a regular sleep schedule. The time change hit me hard, I was in bed at 7:45 yesterday....I just could not keep my eyes open any longer. Add in the fact that I think we each got 20 hours total of sleep during the trip - yeah, today will be spent recovering:)

Even though we were only there for 5 days, it felt like 3 weeks....and I mean that in the best, most amazing way possible. We packed SO much into those 5 days, and it was one of my favorite trips ever taken. Jay and I are now plotting ways to buy a house in Ireland:)

I was going to post a few iPhone shots from my trip, until I scrolled through my pictures and realized I only had pictures of Guinness. So here you go. Many, many more posts to come soon:)

Glad you had a great trip!!!

My Bags are (almost) Packed

Well folks, we're heading to Ireland TOMORROW, and this is the status of me being ready for the trip:

Not ready at all. I've been frantically trying to get loose ends tied up around here before I leave, so I haven't even THOUGHT about packing yet. And do you see that's a carry-on suitcase? Yeah, I have to pack everything in a carry-on. Not an easy feat, people. But 6 people + 1 van in Ireland means we all have to travel light. I don't think I'm even going to start packing until tomorrow - better late than never, right?

I'm SO excited to be heading to Ireland tomorrow. I'm equally excited to have shamrock shakes in the airport to kick off our trip (yeah, that's gonna happen). I'll be back to my normal blogging when I get home next week!

I have to give a HUGE shout out to Sam, who is not only house sitting for us while we're away, but puppy sitting too:) You're the BEST!!

Philly Chocolate Tour

Guys, there is a chocolate tour in Philly. And it's heavenly. If you live here, you must go on this tour. A few of my old roommates and I did the tour last weekend, and it was amazingly delicious.

It starts in Reading Terminal Market. No, Bassetts isn't part of the tour. Yes, we all got ice cream before the tour even started, That's just how we roll.

First stop was the Famous 4th Street Cookie Company, where they made a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies just for us. There's not much better than a warm chocolate chip cookie.

Touring with these lovely ladies:

The second stop was also in Reading Terminal Market - can't remember the name of this one though...we sampled the chocolate on the plate that's in the top left photo:

Next up was Marcie Blaine....I wish I could have sampled everything they had on display....

Next up was Teuscher - our favorite stop. They fly all of their chocolates in, first class, from Switzerland on a weekly basis. We had the champagne truffles, and they were to die for.

Yeah, I was that girl on the tour. "Pose with your truffles ladies!"

Then there was one last stop at a gelato shop, but I had a total brain fart and took zero pictures there. I guess I was too busy devouring the delicious gelato.

Happy Friday!

The Teuscher picture through the glass? LOVE. And the chocolate chip cookies too. That is my one weakness in chocolate land.

Sounds awesome but they missed one if the best places in the city for artisan chocolate. Philly Chocolate on walnut street across from ihop. Weird since it’s called “Philly Chocolate” tour.
