June Self Portrait: Wedding-ing

In the beginning of the month I experienced something that is VERY rare for wedding photographers – I was a GUEST at a wedding two weekends in a row. Now that I’m a wedding photographer, I absolutely LOVE being a guest at weddings – any other photographers out there feel me on this?

When friends and family get married, I’d always rather be a guest at their wedding than shoot it. As much as I love my job (I really do think it’s the best job in the world), when I’m shooting a wedding I still have a job to do, and I can’t relax like I would if I were a guest. I want to be able to enjoy friend’s and family’s weddings along with everyone else:) So when I found out a good friend of ours and my stepsister were getting married one week apart from each other, I was SUPER excited to know I’d be a guest two weekends in a row. It’s always such a weird dynamic to be sitting in the pew, watching another photographer coordinate family formals, but I loved it!

Hope everyone has an awesome weekend, stay cool!

You’re so pretty. Love this shot of you. I love even more that you were able to relax for a weekend!!

The Manor House Wedding Photographer: Hillary & Nick

Hillary and Nick's wedding at The Manor House was absolutely beautiful. Hillary and Nick are two of the kindest, most laid back people - they go with the flow, which made it such a relaxing wedding day:) Hillary looked simply stunning as a bride - she's SUCH an easy bride to photograph, I knew she'd look absolutely amazing on her wedding day. Even though the rain fouled the plans for an outdoor ceremony, they were both all smiles during the wedding, just so excited to be marrying one another. It was such an honor for me to document your day guys, thank you!

For even more photos from Hillary & Nick's day, you can check out the SLIDESHOW! A few of my favorites are below:)

So absolutely beautiful:

This one feels so classic and timeless to me:

Time for the First Look! My favorite part of the day:)

This right here is why I'm in love with First Looks, nothing beats the true emotion of this moment:)

Thanks to Cait, my amazing 2nd shooter, for grabbing this shot:

They're such a happy couple together, I love my job:)

Hands down one of my favorite bridal portraits I've ever taken - she's stunning:)

Loved this moment with Nick and his brother, seeing Hillary walk down the aisle:

See what I mean? All smiles, all day:)

Husband and wife!

Hillary and Nick, your day was absolutely perfect, and I was thrilled to be a part of it - hope you're enjoying St. Lucia!

Awww, that couple does look so happy and in love! Who cares about the rain, right? I couldn’t stop smiling when I was looking at these pics because I could feel the joy of the day! Beautiful couple too :)

Gorgeous wedding, Tina!! I LOVE the shot of the bride walking down the staircase; you always nail those shots!

Longwood Gardens Engagement Photographer: Taryn & Chris

Longwood Gardens is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to shoot - there is so much variety there, it's so easy to shoot for hours! Last week Taryn & Chris braved the heat wave with me for their engagement session. Even though it was horribly hot, the light was ahhh-mazing, and I'm so so excited about how these turned out - doesn't hurt that Taryn & Chris are two of the sweetest, adorably in love couples ever:) Here are some of my favorites!

Taryn is easily one of the most photogenic people I've photographed:

Two of my favorites below!

Taryn, that dress was the PERFECT choice for the shoot:)

See what I mean? We had some absolutely amazing light to shoot in!

And I saved the best for last - hands down my favorite from the shoot!

Thanks for braving the heat with me guys! It was totally worth it:)

That does seem to be the perfect place for a photo shoot. So tranquil and scenic. These pics are beautiful! Doesn’t hurt to have a good looking couple to work with ;)

Oh wow! These are perfect. I love that location, and the bride? GORGEOUS! Oh, and girl, I feel you on the heat. It has been 100 degrees for a week here. I should refuse to shoot in these oppressive Alabama summer months. Yuck.

Absolutely beautiful! You should be in an add for Longwood Gardens.
