One of the many perks of working from home with this job is the flexibility. I love making my own schedule, and being my own boss. During the week I can run my errands while everyone else is at work, or spend a day here or there with family if they're in town. Don't get me wrong, 99% of the time I'm behind my desk working (or out for a shoot), but it's nice to have the option when the opportunity comes around.
A few weeks back, a photographer who I've admired for a long time and follow on Twitter (), tweeted that she was hosting a workshop in Brooklyn, and her model backed out. The tweet was on a Monday, and the workshop was on Wednesday. That Wednesday happened to be a day that I didn't have anything scheduled (shoot wise), AND Jay happened to be up in Manhattan for work, and was going out to dinner with some of our friends. I emailed Susan (after trying my dress on, crossing my fingers and toes that it still fit!), letting her know I still have my wedding dress and I'd be up for it, half expecting to never hear back from her. A little while later she emailed me saying she'd love to have me, so the plans were set - I was heading to Brooklyn that Wednesday!
It's times like that when I love the randomness of my job:) When the opportunity arises to be photographed by one of ? Well, you jump on it:) Here are some of my favorites that she sent my way:

It was 100+ degrees this day, so to say we were hot would be an understatement....it was scorching. The heat, combined with my dress being a tad snug, made me pray I didn't pass out on them:)

Gosh it was so fun getting all dressed up in my wedding garb again, even if it was incredibly hot. Made me remember how amazing my own wedding day was!

Thanks again for the images, Susan! I had a blast!!

Oh my, these are lovely Tina! And I love Susan. Ever since she photographed my best friend Radha’s wedding several years back I can’t get enough of her. Her blog is always my first stop for inspiration and “drooling” over the lush images, glorious light and lovely perspective. So glad you got to work with her.
You know what I took away most from this post? That your wedding dress still fits?? Good for you!
You looked AMAZING Tina!!! That must’ve been such an awesome opportunity….
