April Self Portrait: A Month Full of Travel

April can be summed up in one word: travel. I was only home for half of the month, the rest of the month was spent on the road. So I basically felt like I was living out of a suitcase for a month straight:)

I got home late last night from my last trip of the month, an amazing, relaxing weekend in Indiana visiting my good friend Gail. I was also in the Outer Banks shooting Trisha & Aaron's wedding (my first destination wedding!), then also spent a lot of time in Raleigh visiting my sister and baby niece:)

As much as I love traveling, it felt great to unpack my suitcase this morning, put it back in storage, and know I won't need it again until June. There's no place like home!

It was AWESOME meeting you!!!!!!!! : )

PS The first time I spent the night at Gail’s, I promptly went home and bought myself a professional waffle maker. Will you be doing the same? (Life changing purchase btw!!!)

PPS I need to see photos of you and that certain piece of jewelry I was dogging!

Love this one. :) And where are you headed in June!? NC?

March Self Portrait: Working From Anywhere

One of my favorite things about being my own boss is the flexibility to work anywhere. As long as I pack up my laptop, I can bring my business with me and work anywhere in the world. I've been doing a lot of traveling during the winter down time, so it's nice that I don't have to take any time off from work while I'm traveling - I just bring my laptop wherever I go, and I'm all set:)

When I went to Florida last week I did a lot of planning and goal setting for the future of my business. Which requires time to just sit and think about where I want to go and what I want to do. So this was me, working (aka thinking), in Florida. This is my ideal work setting:)

Happy Friday!

Ahhh… the life.

February Self Portrait: Irish Beauty

No, I'm not calling myself an Irish beauty - just to clarify:) I still can't get over how much I loved Ireland, it's such a beautiful country. I'm so glad I can finally say I've been to Europe - got my first stamp in my passport book at the age of 28! Taking an international trip has been on my list of things to do for a LONG time, so I'm glad I can finally say I've done it. And it couldn't have been to a more beautiful place. A LOT of our trip was spent in the car, driving from city to city. Normally I wouldn't want to spend a lot of a trip in a car, but seeing all of the country side was breathtaking.

I couldn't pick just one self portrait this month, so I'm including two:) This first one was one of my favorite parts of the trip - we were driving from Dublin to Dingle, on Conor Pass. We pulled off the road to take some pictures, and Mike decided to hike up the side of the mountain a little bit - glad he did, because there was an amazing lake half way up, that we would have never known about. There were no signs or anything marking that a lake was up there. So we all hiked up after him (Bridget in her heels, such a trooper), where we took in some of the most amazing views. In this shot the lake is behind the camera (I'll post photos later), and there is a straight drop down in front of the rock I'm standing on. You can't tell in this picture, but I also earned the nickname "muddy bottom" here, since 2 minutes before this picture was taken I slipped and fell in a huge pile of mud. Yep, my whole back side is covered in mud in this picture. Good times.

2nd February self portrait - taken in the streets of Galway. This was my favorite city we visited in Ireland. This city was exactly what I imagined Ireland feeling like, with cobblestone streets and hearing Irish music pour out from the restaurants and shops....I wish we could have spent more time here. So this is me, in the streets of Galway, with my new Irish wool hat:)

I can't wait to share the rest of my pictures next week - more coming soon!
