I got the idea from another photographer, and I’m so glad she blogged about it – I had 5×5 prints made and the look SO cool.  Still not sure where I’m going to put them, but it’s good to know these pictures look awesome in print form!  For all of you who are wondering, the app is ShakeIt Photo:)

It was so fun being “in” on the secret, so I was able to experience everyone’s reaction when she told them for the first time.  She told my dad, grandparents, and Mike’s parents when we were visiting my grandparents one weekend.  It was Father’s Day weekend, so she decided to get my dad and Mike’s dad “grandpa” cards, and she got my grandpa a “great grandpa” card…..it was too funny, here are my dad (left) and Mike’s dad (right) initially reading the cards:

My dad SO did not get it, it was hilarious – here is how it went:

Dad: Jess, you gave me the wrong card.

Jess: No I didn’t.

Dad: Yes, it says Grandpa.

Jess: Right, that’s for you.  Read it.

Dad: Smiles:)

Mike’s dad’s expression was hilarious – he just sat there for a minute with a shocked look on his face:)

I SO needed this weekend away, that I didn’t even care that this is what it looked like outside on my drive down:

It rained ALL DAY on Saturday, but it finally let up a little bit at the end of the day, so we were able to take a walk on the beach:

I was also SUPER excited to get my first bridal shower gift this weekend!  I was obsessed with the wrapping paper, how cute is it??  Thanks Candice!

I ordered a bunch of these pictures as prints, so I’ll let you all know how the quality works out:)

I had such a fun weekend girls!  Can’t wait for our big trip the year of our 30th birthdays:)

These things were supposed to give you ears to hear like animals.  Yes, Jay and I are matching.  No, it wasn’t planned.  Yes, we were both too lazy to change once we realized this.

It’s so weird to realize a place like this exists 2 miles from our house, in a pretty built up area:

They even had a HUGE tree house type thing….so fun:)

I didn’t realize how high we were off the ground until I wanted take a picture through the nets we were sitting on….got a liiiittle freaked out at that point:)

I love this Pepsi barn that’s on a random hill-side of the mountain…..then this guy came out to meet me:)

This is my favorite cabin up there – the teeny tiny one you can see on the other side of the lake….it’s a legit log cabin – looks like it was made out of Lincoln Logs (remember those??:)

Like I said, my dad owns some land up in North PA…..so it’s uniquely called “the land”  hah:

Everything is dirt roads up there, so this ATV is our mode of transportation…..I wish I could have somehow gotten a picture of Jay’s face riding this thing, because he just has the hugest smile plastered on his face when he’s driving:)

And if it was just me holding the camera?  Forget about it.  One thing I learned about myself this weekend is that I really have no upper body strength – I had to make Jay hold the camera (my hands were a shaky mess) while I tried to focus and take the picture.  Didn’t hurt that he has abnormally long arms, they actually came in handy this time:)

At least one part of the weekend was awesome – we finally got a grill, and got to try it out for the first time.  Jay is pretty much in heaven.  I love this picture of him – it’s just so “him” in his element: a new grill, Steelers burger flipper (with a bottle opener on the end….he says that’s the best part), and Grill Meister apron.  He made me promise I wouldn’t put pictures of him wearing an apron on the blog.  Sorry Jay, I just had to:)

Our front yard was pretty much a mish-mosh of random plants and bushes everywhere, so we pulled everything out and we’re starting over……I forgot to take “before” pictures – I always forget about that!  Anywho, we probably should have come up with a plan for what we want to plant in its place before we pulled everything out, but this is pretty much how the scene looked:  Jay and I, working outside pulling/chopping/cutting everything up for about 5 hours (with neighbors coming up to us making comments like “that’s, uh, ambitious” throughout), then we stood back, looked at our blank yard and said, “k, now what?”

So that’s what our Memorial Day weekend will probably look like – lots of planting and trips to Home Depot – so we can calm our neighbors nerves about all of the “craziness” that’s going on at our house:)

These fun pink guys are the only things that are left in our little yard – they were just too pretty I couldn’t pull them out!

I was having such a good time, and was in need of a break from work in a bad way, so I took barely any pictures the entire weekend – I did manage to grab a couple shots of Vikas during the Barat, but that’s about it!

What a great guy – seriously, one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.

I didn’t even get a SINGLE picture of the bride!  I stole this picture from my friend Ashley – hope you don’t mind Ash!  I am just in LOVE with their expressions in this picture – doesn’t Tara look like an Indian Barbie??

Vikas and Tara – thanks for having us!  Your wedding was full of so much love, I had SO MUCH fun!

Side Note:  Jay has a group of 7 guy friends from high school, and ever since their teen year’s they’ve called themselves the DNB.  Vikas is one of the members of DNB (don’t even bother asking what it stands for, they won’t tell anyone).  Apparently the only thing Vikas asked for at his wedding was for the DNB to dance to “Like a Prayer” by Madonna.  And that they did.  I was front and center, with my Flip Video camera in hand, and caught the whole thing – I’ve been watching it on repeat, and laugh so hard my stomach hurts every.single.time.  I think all of the Indian guests referred to their performance as “the white guy dance” because none of them were on the same step at the same time – at one point one of Jay’s friends actually pushed him out of his “dance space”, as Jay stepped on his foot….I am dying to post it here, but I feel like Jay might disown me if I do that…..so keep your eye out on Facebook, I’m sure a copy or two *might* just leak out:)
