A Little Wrap Love

I know it’s pretty nerdy, but I look forward to when the mail comes….I rarely get anything good, but I still look forward to it every day, not sure why.  But when I’m expecting a package to be delivered??  I probably check my porch every hour on the hour.  So you can imagine how excited I was when I had a couple of gallery wraps delivered to my front door yesterday afternoon…..heard the package hit the front door, waited until I heard the truck drive away (tried to not pounce on the driver), and tore into it….I am LOVING how they turned out!

For anyone who hasn’t heard of gallery wraps, they’re pictures that are printed on canvas, and the canvas is then stretched around an inch thick wooden frame….seriously in love with this big one  I ordered from Rebecca & Tommy’s wedding:

Absolutely love how the picture extends around the frame:

I  also ordered two tinier ones – I love the idea of displaying baby photos this way also:

I can’t wait to have my OWN wedding pictures so I can get a huge canvas for above our bed:)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  I’m off to the beach for the weekend with some of my college roommates – it’s going to be a much needed relaxing weekend:)

Nina & John: Wedding

Last Friday Nina & John were married at the Concordville Inn, and to say it was a perfect day was an understatement.  High of 80 degrees, zero percent chance of precipitation?  Well folks, that just doesn’t happen in Philly.  The sky was so blue that it looked like it was Photoshopped.  Today, sitting in the 104 degree heat, I’m glad their wedding didn’t fall on a day like today!

Nina and John’s wedding was too fun – they are SUCH a sweet couple, and let’s be honest…..when I have a bride as gorgeous as Nina?  Well that just makes my job SUPER easy:)

Here are a few from their day, and you can check out more in their SLIDESHOW.

I was lovin’ this blue room, perfect spot to get dressed:

What did I tell you?  Gorgeous:)

Loooove this one:

Nina and John chose to have a “First Look” session, where they see each other before the ceremony.  I loooove when couples choose this option – you can get all of the pre-wedding jitters out of the way, and it’s just such an intimate moment between the two of you:

So full of emotion:)

Seriously Nina, I couldn’t get over how stunning you look in every.single.picture.:)

Loved how the wind picked up Nina’s veil at the perfect time:

See what I mean about how the sky looked photoshopped? There was no photoshop used to make the sky look this blue:

LOVE these girls:)

Their ceremony took place at St. John Fisher:

I just HAD to throw this picture in – this is my friend Lauren that I work with…..just love her!  So beautiful:)

I have no idea how old John’s mom is (below), but I swear she doesn’t look a day over 30:

Nina and John, thanks so much for having me at your wedding!  Hope you’re enjoying the sunny beaches of California:)

Again, check out more pictures in their SLIDESHOW!

4th Fun

Don’t you love when you find fun things to do within 2 miles from your house that you never knew existed?  That’s what Jay and I did on the 4th:)  I probably drove past the Morris Arboretum about 5 times a week, but never really knew what it was, so we decided to check it out yesterday.  After our delicious grilled shrimp.  Because grilling food is healthier.  Just ignore the pool of butter the shrimp are sitting in:)

These things were supposed to give you ears to hear like animals.  Yes, Jay and I are matching.  No, it wasn’t planned.  Yes, we were both too lazy to change once we realized this.

It’s so weird to realize a place like this exists 2 miles from our house, in a pretty built up area:

I was lovin’ this chair, might have to get a print made of this one:

They even had a HUGE tree house type thing….so fun:)

I didn’t realize how high we were off the ground until I wanted take a picture through the nets we were sitting on….got a liiiittle freaked out at that point:)

Hope everyone enjoyed their 4th!

July 11, 2010 - 6:43 pm

Grandma & Grandpa Dougherty - A tree house in Philadelphia? I’ve got to see that. It sure looked like you guys had a great 4th. Take care

July 7, 2010 - 9:23 pm

July 5, 2010 - 7:58 pm

Joan - I always wondered about that place too! I’m glad you and Jay checked it out. Maybe I’ll get over there too one day. I loved the pictures of the two of you with the megaphones on your ears!

July 5, 2010 - 5:16 pm

april - I love it there! So many fun things to play with. Totally love the chair quote, it’d be a perfect print!

Angela and Steve: Wedding

Last weekend I was able to shoot a wedding with April, which was awesome….it’s always fun to see how other photographers work:)  I was so glad I got to tag along with her for Angela & Steve’s wedding….such a great couple!  They were just so happy and excited to be getting married, and you could really feel that excitement all day:)

Angela and Steve held their reception at Nostalgia, and we stopped for pictures at Byers’ Choice.  It was the first time I shot at Byers’ Choice, and I can’t wait to stop there again – SO many awesome locations there:)

I was lovin’ her blue shoes:

And impromptu dance with dad in the hotel room:)

Isn’t her expression the cutest??

My favorite from the day – I looove shooting in fields!

Loved this little guy – pure boredom in church:)  Then check out the t-shirts they wore in the reception!  Awesome idea:

Hands DOWN one of the best father/daughter dances I’ve seen.  It started off like the typical dance:

Then about half way through Airforce 1 (a rap song hah) came on – Angela’s dad didn’t know it was coming on, so at first he just started laughing, but then threw his coat to his wife (top left), and started going all out – he knew every.single.word.  Too funny!

Hope everyone has a great weekend, I’m off to shoot Nina and John’s wedding tomorrow!

July 5, 2010 - 5:14 pm

april - You ROCK!!! :) I can’t wait to shoot together again, it was so much fun!

New Product: Guest Sign-in Books

I’m loving these new products I just got in the mail (more to blog later!) – here is the first product, my new guest sign-in books….I’m even making one for myself for my own wedding:)  Here is a close up of the book’s pages – it has nice sturdy, thick pages for wedding guests to sign on:

All of the pages lay flat, so album spreads can stretch across from one page to the next:

Each book has a custom cover using a picture from your engagement session, and has your name and wedding date printed on as well:

The album spreads are designed using lots of white space, which leaves a lot of room for guests to sign on your wedding day:)

Brides, just let me know if you want to order one for your wedding day!  These sign-in books can be added to any package:)

Happy Tuesday!
