Lee: 1 Year Old

I can’t believe Lee is going to be one year old in a few short days!  It seems like I JUST was shooting his newborn session, and definitely doesn’t seem long ago that I shot his 6 month session.  It’s so fun to see one of my close friends as a mom – I keep telling Mary that I hope Jay and I are as laid back as parents as they are when we have kids one day…..Lee is just the happiest little baby because of it!  Here are a few shots of Lee, as he’s about to turn 1!

Mary had to run inside to grab something, and this was Lee’s expression as she walked back out – super cute:)

Those eyes.  Those little teeth.  Love it!

Lee can’t walk yet, but John taught him how to throw his leg over all of his John Deere toys to ride them:)

Hanging out in Dad’s chair:)

Trying out cake for the first time…..he was only interested in the icing at first:

Then he dug right in:)

Getting all the crumbs:)

I think it’s pretty obvious Lee is going to take after John – he LOVES sitting on tractors:)

So intense!

Then we found a cornfield to play in – I think I want to do more shoots in cornfields:)

A little tired after our shoot:)

Note: If you want babies to crawl right to you during your shoot, wear dangly necklaces – Lee loved eating my necklace:)  PS – I know I look like Rachel from Friends here holding Lee (Ross: Rach, hold the baby like you’d hold a football.  Rachel:  This IS how I’d hold a football!), but I swear I know how to hold a baby normally:)  Thanks to Mary for snapping this one:)

Thanks Mary, I can’t wait to keep documenting Lee as he grows:)  I can’t believe it’s been one whole year already!

Heather - Love these, they are so fun! Especially that one you shot of his face framed with the steering wheel!

Sarah & Simon: Engaged

Ahhh, I just loved this session – hot couple, gorgeous light, and an amazing location:)  Sarah & Simon opted to do their engagement session where they first met: at their friend’s house.  This house was another one where I felt like I was on vacation!  I think I must have screamed 10 times “man, I REALLY want to move here!”  They live in a house right on lake with their own little dock….I could have shot there all day long:)  But I love that Sarah & Simon picked a location that meant something to the two of them as a couple – even if Sarah DID trip and fall down the stairs as they were about to be introduced for the first time:)  TOTALLY sounds like something that would happen to me!

On to the pictures!

Simon is an AWESOME landscaper – he did all of their landscaping (that patio/fireplace and everything!), and it was even featured in a magazine….I was impressed:)  I think I won brownie points because I knew that the plant in the bottom of the picture was a hosta:)

I LOVE these!  They took a canoe ride the first night they met, so they hopped in for a few pictures:)

Sarah, I love your smile:)

Yummy light!

See what I mean?  HOT couple!

Like I said, this house was amazing, so I love that they totally trusted me when I asked them to walk behind a shed for a few:)

This is the basement of the house.  I don’t know about you, but my living room doesn’t even look this nice…

Thanks Sarah & Simon!  I had so much fun with you two….can’t wait for the winter wedding:)

Jaime - These pictures are gorgeous, Tina! And the couple looks amazing together :)

The Land

Last weekend Jay and I had a little weekend getaway, and went up to the middle of NO where for the weekend.  My dad has some land up in north PA that’s pretty remote, so it’s always fun going up there just to disconnect from the world for a weekend:)  I love heading up there because it’s so peaceful, and you hardly see any people the whole weekend.  Here are some of the sights:

I kept wishing I had a couple to shoot in the middle of this field with tall grass:)

I love this Pepsi barn that’s on a random hill-side of the mountain…..then this guy came out to meet me:)

This is my favorite cabin up there – the teeny tiny one you can see on the other side of the lake….it’s a legit log cabin – looks like it was made out of Lincoln Logs (remember those??:)

Like I said, my dad owns some land up in North PA…..so it’s uniquely called “the land”  hah:

Everything is dirt roads up there, so this ATV is our mode of transportation…..I wish I could have somehow gotten a picture of Jay’s face riding this thing, because he just has the hugest smile plastered on his face when he’s driving:)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

June 25, 2010 - 12:35 pm

Heather - That old farm house with the tree in the field? I MUST go there.

June 22, 2010 - 11:24 pm

Allison - these pics are amazing!! AND…did you see that one horse that looks totally shocked?? hahahaa

June 22, 2010 - 5:43 pm

Amanda - Fourth photo down? BEAUTIFUL. You need to hook a girl up with that photo in a giant size so I can frame it for my house. Seriously that is how much I love it.

June 21, 2010 - 8:51 am

Ben - Ahhhh….I mellow out just looking at the pictures! Great Pics Tina! (I really LOVE the one of the gray barn by the winery.)

June 20, 2010 - 7:53 pm

Sarah - <3 all of these!!!

June 18, 2010 - 9:27 am

Gail - SOOOOOOOOOOOO gorgeous! I want to shoot in that field too!!!! I’ve decided I’m ruined on just taking in a scenic place..because now, all I think is, “I would really like to take someone’s photos here!” BAH!

PS – Those shots below of you two are CUTE!!

Outtakes from Our Weekend Away

Why is it SO hard to get good “self portraits” when you hold the camera yourself?  Faces always look weird, and it takes about 20 tries to get one that looks half decent.  Add the weight of my 5D and 24-70mm lens, and it’s pretty much impossible to get a good picture that’s actually in focus.

Here are a few outtakes of Jay and I from our weekend in the middle of no where (excuse our appearance (especially the hair – YIKES), we were in the middle of the woods for the whole weekend:)

Eyes closed:

Out of focus:

Do you know what’s going on with my expression here?  Cause I don’t….yikes.

I think I was telling him to remember to smile, when I ended up forgetting to give him a kiss….instead it just looks like I’m biting him:

Welp, this is as good as it gets!

And if it was just me holding the camera?  Forget about it.  One thing I learned about myself this weekend is that I really have no upper body strength – I had to make Jay hold the camera (my hands were a shaky mess) while I tried to focus and take the picture.  Didn’t hurt that he has abnormally long arms, they actually came in handy this time:)

I’ll be posting more pictures from our weekend away later in the week:)

June 22, 2010 - 5:45 pm

Amanda - We do the exact same thing. The only problem is that Allen ends up getting irritated with the process and the more pics we take, the worse they are. I almost always end up using the first one anyways :)

June 18, 2010 - 1:03 pm

Jaime - haha I love them!! Especially #3 :)

June 16, 2010 - 8:14 pm

Joan - Nice pictures of you and Jay, Tina! I actually like them all! They’re very casual and fun!

June 16, 2010 - 6:27 pm

Jess - Haha, very cute!

Rebecca & Tommy: Wedding

Last week I shot the most GORGEOUS wedding at the Ballroom at the Ben in center city Philadelphia.  It was such a perfect day for a wedding – great weather (just a tad hot though hah), gorgeous details, and two amazing families…..these families were so much fun!  Rebecca and Tommy have pretty much known each other their whole lives – their families have been close friends for years.  So when this pair started dating a few years back, it was a perfect merging of the two families:)

Now on to the pictures, here are a few details from the day:

Love these flowers!   Rebecca’s parents had a PERFECT porch for pictures, I was so excited:)

Stunning:)

Jaime (my new second shooter) did an awesome job at this wedding, this shot is hers:

The church they were married in was stunning (St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gloucester City, NJ):

Husband and wife!

LOVED these groomsmen – by the end of the day they mastered the “serious” pose:)

Next we headed over to Washington Square in center city Philadelphia for some more shots:

This one makes me smile:)

Love this too!

We just HAD to do the shots on Broad Street – this spot never gets old for me!

And then enter the reception.  Just LOOK at this venue!  Ballroom at the Ben is absolutely stunning inside, I was  in heaven getting detail shots:

Rebecca & Tommy, thank you SO much for inviting me to be a part of your day – it was so much fun, and was an absolutely amazing wedding!  Not to mention both of your families are a blast:)  Have a great time in Riviera Maya at the end of the month!

To see more pictures from Rebecca & Tommy’s day, check out the SLIDESHOW!
